Unknown computer virus, what is it and how do i get it off?

My grandads computer has been running really slow lately, he is on talk talk broadband and has talk talk security, i know its not the fastest connection in the world, but it sometimes takes 10 minutes just to open the homepage. Generally the computer is just running sluggishly slow, what is this virus and how do i remove it.

I've already done a full computer scan and that helped slightly, but talk talk security may be part of the problem, is their any other sercurity programmes that i can get rid of the virus quick? help!

Why are you so sure its a virus (especially since you've ran a full virus scan)?

Talktalk is renowned for being appalling slow and contended.
