How do I stop the monitor from shuting down during security scan?

I had to scan the computer twice today, because the first time the monitor began turning itself off during the scan, and moving the mouse wouldn't bring it back to the site, or back to the part I can enter my user account.

I wanted to see the progress of the scan, but couldn't, I had no control, it was just my desktop picture and no controls.

When I pressed the off button the site opened so I could see the scan process, but of course it was shutting down then, so I had to do the entire scan again.

I don't use the computer much when it is being scanned by security, it slows it all down. But I want to be able to see the progress when ever I want to.

Go to your Control Panel and select Power Options.

In the box that comes up, change the power scheme to Presentation.

Control panel -display-screen saver adjust the time click apply.then exit
Go to Control Panel/Power Options and change the setting to "Never" for the "turn off display" option.

By the way, the security scan uses huge amounts of resources. Moving the mouse or pressing a shift key will eventually bring the screen back, it just takes a very long time.
