Help against computer hackers.?

I just had my computer fixed due to hackers. Installed security measures. It has only been a few days and I've been warned by security they have blocked 23 attempts to access my computer using ports. Does anyone know how they do this and what added measures I can take? Sooner or later these idiots will get through and there goes my computeer again.

Relax.

It's just random port scanning that everyone gets. It's just bots searching randomly for computers with open ports.

But your firewall is blocking them and THAT"S EXACTLY WHAT WE HAVE FIREWALLS FOR!

Your firewall is doing it's job and doing it well. Give it a cookie!

Such activity has even acquired a name, "Internet noise". It is considered "normal".

BTW, 23 blocked attempts in a few days is extremely few. In a single hour, my firewalls will block that many attempts.

So just sit back and enjoy your computer. All is well!

The fact that the attacks were BLOCKED is a good thing. It means your defenses did what they were supposed to. Eventually, if the blocking continues successfully, the hackers will get bored and move on to someone else.
