Norton 360 makes my computer slow?

Ever since I replaced Norton Internet security 2004, With Norton 360 my pc is slow. It also started to make a weird nose out of my tower. I am at the point if its my pc or Norton 360. I reformatted my comp the noise went away but once I installed it started again鈥?idk its a Sony Viao
