The program was uninstalled and i cannot install it anymore because it says there is a "fatal error and the installation has to be aborted" how can i install it or is there a better one to download for free? Try Zonealarm. There's a free version and a version that you have to pay for:

Also, remeber that XP SP2 comes with a built in firewall. You can turn it on by using the Security Center in the Control Panel.

Hope this Helps!!

That sucks. I have Norton Internet Security 2006 and have not had that problem, nor the common 'slowdown' that I've heard people complain about. Try Windows Defender. It caught 3 viruses (so far) on my laptop that Norton didn't detect. You can download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

It's also a good idea to have an anti-spyware program that scans every night while you sleep. This will give you added security and keep your PC/laptop running smoothly.
Use AVG for free anti virus protection. Can be downloaded from www.freedownloads.com

a great security setup is 1.avg anti-virus free....2.sybot.....3.lavasoft adaware.....3.windows defender......4.backed up with service pack 2....you cant go wrong with that ...i think theres too much hype said about norton and macafee...they ****up our computers and i think its them who create the virus,s in the first place!
Freeware:

AVG Antivirus

ClamWin + WinPooch

Antivir Guard

Avast Antivirus

Paid Software:

Ewido Security Suite

Trend Micro Internet Security
I personally do not like fully integrated packages. So here is what I use.

Norton Anti-virus (not a suite edition)

SpyBot Search %26 Destroy

Ad-Aware

Zone Alarm

Norton is a commercial product, and I am using the FREE version of everything else from Download.com
