I just bought "mcaffe internet security suite" and downloaded it to an older computer and it wouldn't even let me log in to internet explorer,it was errotic and froze than downloaded it to a year old computer, they're both laptops, and it isn't much better, please tell me somebody what can be done if anything before I melt of frustration?????????????
Security issues?norton
you will need to add more ram (memory) thats the only way to fix this issue. good luck.
Security issues?spyware remover
run a free linux operating system
I tossed several computers (for real) before I learned about linux
now I dont get bugs of any sort and its free to download
or cheap off ebay and other sites
you can try all the crap to fix windows you want and it still gets infected
Use some other software. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html
Because it need more resources to run and your older PC are under power to run such products.
Mcafee and other same products like Norton is so heavy becasue they do a great job in securing your pc at all,if you have a weak pc don't ge them and get something lighter like f-secure internet security or eset smart security.
Sadly anytime you add security software to your system like Mccaffe you are going to have to perform some maintenance to balance out the enourmous amount information that it adds to your computer's registry. Most of the information is useless. Your registry holds a detailed record of all updates, installs, de-installs, etc. on your PC. MCcaffe can literally add 100 of megabytes to this registry daily. Once your registry becomes bloated and fragment. It more difficult for you computer to search the registry for proper info when need. SO, it slows and after a while it will eventually freeze. The best thing to do is scan your registry with a good cleaner. Then if you have more than 20 errors, clean and orgainize the registry with the cleaner. The page below offers alot of free scans from top software, Hope this helps! It usually solves the problem immediately.
