Norton internet security 2006 will not allow me to surf the internet?

I have a problem. I am working on a clients computer and it is unable to get on the internet. He stated that about a week ago he was able to get on the internet but now he is unable. While running Norton Internet Security 2006 the internet will not work but if i disable the application I am able to do so. I allowed iexplorer.exe full access to the internet through NIS06 but it still will not work. I also completely uninstall the program and reinstalled it and still cannot get it to work. I also did a system restore for a week back and reinstalled NIS06 and I still have the same problem. Do anybody have any ideas on how to resolve this problem thanx.

Want to watch my business from my Computer?

I have security cameras at my business. I want to watch it from my computer at home or my laptop when I travel. Any ideas on how to do it?

Thks

You will need a way to pipe the video data from your cameras to your internet connection. Most DVR systems camera system will allow you to do this.

You can also get some internet enabled web cameras that do the same job - they connect to the power and your router / internet connection and you can connect to them remotely.

You will also need a static IP for your business internet connection - or have the ability to do DNS routing so you know what URL/ IP address to connect to.

I think the easiest way would be to encorporate a DVR system. You should be able to upgrade the existing camera system you have (most likely) with one.

Be ready to spend a little bit of money :)

It depends on the features of the brand of security camera system you have. Some can do it, some can't.

You'll definitely need at least a broadband internet connection at the facility to stream the video.

Yep...I know how to do it. Go to http://www.stealthprotector.com/visec-su...

If you already have a security camera, hidden camera, or Nanny Cam, then all you need is the Visec from StealthProtector.com. It allows you to see your cameras images from any computer in the world OR your cell phone. It actually alerts you on your cell phone when there is any movement, and it starts recording. It is so awesome for home, house, or business surveillance. Watch your home, office, or business from any computer in the world. http://www.stealthprotector.com...

Why does my microsoft security update prompt keep coming back?

Microsoft Security Updates has reminded me that there is a new security download: .NET framework 1.1 service pack 1. I have attempted to install it several times and afterward it says that it has been successfully installed. I shut down my computer but when rebooted, the same reminder comes up for the exact same download. I tried turning off my firewall in case that was blocking installation, but it didn't seem ot make a difference. Any ideas?

I have had the same situation. I ignore it and eventually it goes away. It's not accurate because the download has actually been successfully installed. So don' worry about it.

Norton Internet Security???

I have Norton Internet Security on. So i was browsing when a pop up (ads) appeared. I felt this was wierd so i scaned my computer, but nothing (no viruses were found on Norton Virus Scan) was found. I was just wondering if Norton could locate spyware and also how safe is Norton..... viruses and spyware can be a *****.

Norton Internet Security???anti virus software

Norton is an anti-virus and you need anti-spyware in addtion to prevent pop-ups.

Your machine is infected. Pop-ups are mostly caused by adware, spyware, and other malicious and unwanted software and using pop-up blocker won't help an infected PC. No single program can detect and eradicate all spyware and I recommend using Ad-aware and Spybot (they are free). Other great free anti-spyware programs would be Super anti-spyware and AVG anti-spyware (formally Ewido).

Norton is the worst anti-virus product ever made and I would not install it on my computer if I was paid to do so. Norton is more of a virus than an anti-virus. It's a huge resource hog, notoriously bloated and takes forever to perform full systems scans. The software will do more harm to your PC than good and when you try to remove it, it leaves behind over 375 traces in your registry files/folders and subsystem. It's so bad they had to create a removal tool which is still not going to fix all the problems. Your better off using one of the free anti-virus products.

It has been proven ESET NOD32 and Kaspersky are better than the best sellers Norton and McAfee (see the consumersearch source for reviews of the top anti-virus products).

If you want a free anti-virus, get AVG, Avast! or AntiVir (install only 1).

Upgrade your Norton with anti spyware also, $10 I think.

How do you know if you have a virus on your computer?

i was going on a website and then a security message said that you may have a virus on your computer. do the virus scan just download it. i don't want to download any virus programs. i don't even have norton antivirus. how do i know if i have a virus and if i do, how do i remove it without any antivirus programs? i also have firewall installed.

How do you know if you have a virus on your computer?antispam

1)Try a simple program, Spybot. Search for a download site.

2) Search for Housecall, a free online virus checker.

IGNORE THE SECURITY MESSAGE. It's a scam. Many of the security messages link to programs that once installed, are very hard to uninstall.

You can use free online virus scanning and cleaning, the HouseCall, at www.antivirus.com

But, I recommend you install free anti virus program, AVG, from www.grisoft.com . It's a good anti virus program from my using experience. You may need to update it as often as you can to cut short every update time.

Panda Internet Security?

I recently changed my internet security to Panda Platinum 2007 but find that I cannot connect to the internet until I disable Panda. Something seems to be blocking the internet but I don't know how to rectify this. Can anyone held please. Not very computer literate so layman's language would be most appreciated! Thanks.

Panda Internet Security?antispyware

Panda is garbage in my opinion. Rated almost at the bottom by experts in the field of antivirus.

If Panda Platinum 2007, comes with it's own firewall and you are running Windows XP Prof., then there will be a conflict with two firewall.

Go to =start=settings=control panel. Look for the XP Firewall an open and turn off the Windows XP firewall if this is the platform that you are using.

If you only have the Panda firewall, then you should get a pop-up from their firewall asking you for permission to access the internet. If you don't get the firewall pop-up get rid of this junk and download an excellent state of the art free version. (I use this myself in one pc).

http://www.avast.com This is an excellent state of the art free antivirus sytem that updates daily, sometimes twice per day an is free for home use. Their corporate is the same software, they just charge corporate. You will have to fill out a short form and give them your email so they can send you a registration key for the free home version that is good for one year. After the one year is up, all you do is renew the free key. Scans all 175,000 object in my system and will also scan hidden files, compressed files.
