My computer wont let me change backrounds?

There is a virus on my computer I think I got after I installed bit torrent now it is stuck on a black screen with the message "Your computer is in danger! Windows Security Center has detected spyware/adaware infection! It is strongly recomended to use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss." I did a virus scan but it still wont go away somebody please help me!

I had a similar situation and this is what I did go to www.download.com on the search box write the name of the antispyware program I want you to download which is

HIJACK THIS scroll down a little bit you'll see the name click on download it! once it is on your computer open it click on the tab that says DO A SYSTEM SCAN ONLY! it will scan every program on your system showing you spyware and none spyware all in one.... Whatever it finds click on the box next to the program and remove everything be aware it will create a backup file if it is a good program and if it is a harmful one it will permanently DELETE IT! it will ask you to restart do so and when you come back you should have gotten rid of the virus or spyware..... a virus chk would not help , download ad-aware from lavasoft.com and run the program. tht would help
format ur hard disk and reinstall windows there is a only solution .

ZoneAlarm. Its free and has great features. For a more security you can purchase the pro version at the price mentioned above but the free one works just fine.

Tips on rigging up an old computer to serve as a firewall?

Well, i'm planning on linking 2 computers together and running all the files through my slow computer that has an awesome security system into my fast computer for browsing through a single port, instead of 65,000 ports.

Any tips on how to pull this off? I've never done this before but i have extensive computer hardware knowledge.

I think u need to enable those exceptions. Enable the printer and file sharing and then check..
well if ur using remote desktop u need to puch a whole in the firewall so u can use remote desktop progs like vnc

If your parents are savy enough to block it, what will stop them from realizing that you are re-downloading it? I would just suggest that you go to the AOL website, and use the browser there. Lastly, although your parents will figure this out too, try downloading Trillian. This will take you to it.

You don't necessarily have to download aim. You can use aol instant messenger online. Just go to www.aimexpress.aim.com. It works just like AIM, if not better. I use it all the time.
just go to the web site and chat from there. only remember to errase your history after you get done or they will find out and spank you.lol
You might want to use AIM directly from the aol.com website. It's not a down-loadable program, but you can still communicate with people on your buddy list.
